What Is the Best Way from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau?

The official Vung Tau tourism portal's transport summary places Vung Tau about 100 kilometers from central Ho Chi Minh City and gives current road and ferry planning ranges. Current naming note: since July 1, 2025, the former Ba Ria–Vung Tau province has been part of the expanded Ho Chi Minh City, according to the Vietnam Government Portal. Tickets and travel searches still use “Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon to Vung Tau” to distinguish the central urban core from the coast.

Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau Ferry

A Realistic Ferry Day Trip

3. 10:00–10:30 AM: transfer from the pier to Back Beach or the chosen central stop.
